Characteristics
This Stage 3 Afterburner is optimized for .257” caliber cartridges with 1:7.5” twist barrels and case sizes of the 25 Creedmoor or larger to include shots at extended ranges.
Like other Stage 3 releases, the loading behavior of this bullet is incredibly forgiving, thus reducing variation and inconsistencies around component selection and seating depth adjustments. This allows the ability to find accuracy nodes with ease and with a variety of combinations.
The terminal performance of this bullet is ideal for midsized game such as mule deer. However, the terminal profile with high trauma and deep penetration provide confidence when used on larger game like elk or moose. Like all other Stage 3s, these penetrate deep for hard angled shots through high resistance at high impact velocities, while at the same time capable of high trauma on a broadside hit with minimal resistance at 1650 fps impact velocity, thus covering a vast number of potential scenarios.
As our first Stage 3 bullet for all the “quarter bore” fans, we are excited about what this one can do for our customers, both near and far and on a variety of animals. We look forward to hearing about all its success stories!
