Characteristics
This Stage 3 Afterburner is the first .338” to be dedicated for long range setups, creating one of the most impressive options for dangerous game up close to mountain goats out at 1500 yards. Optimized for the Norma Mag with a CIP length magazine or a Lapua based option, even with a bit more freebore, as well as a SAAMI spec 338 RUM in a 3.95” - 4.00” box, this bullet goes virtually unmatched.
Like other Stage 3 releases, the loading behavior of this bullet is incredibly forgiving, thus reducing variation and inconsistencies around component selection and seating depth adjustments. This allows the ability to find accuracy nodes with ease and with a variety of combinations.
The terminal performance of this bullet is unprecedented and capable of anything not limited by minimum diameter regulations or scenarios requiring dangerous game solids. The shrapnel damage is extreme and the penetration deep for hard angled shots on big-bodied game, even on heavy bone, while at the same time capable of full deployment on a broadside hit of a smaller animal at 1650 fps impact velocity.
As our first release in .338” for the long range crowd, we really look forward to seeing the trophy pictures and hearing how this one performs in the field over the next few years!
