Characteristics
This Stage 3 Afterburner is our first in .375”, and our first bullet to meet minimum diameter requirements for dangerous game in Africa. It's performance optimized for the 375 H&H/Ruger and a true freight train in the RUM or 378 Weatherby. Sized in a familiar weight, it balances muzzle velocity, remaining case capacity, BC, and overall heft for the best performance across every scenario a .375” can experience, save for areas requiring solids. There’s no need to venture to Africa with two different soft points, one for thin skinned dangerous game, and one for thicker skinned game. This bullet blankets both requirements all in one.
Like other Stage 3 releases, the loading behavior of this bullet is incredibly forgiving, thus reducing variation and inconsistencies around component selection and seating depth adjustments. This allows the ability to find accuracy nodes with ease and with a variety of combinations.
With the largest trauma path of any Afterburner from Apex Outdoors, it’s capable of anything not requiring dangerous game solids. The shrapnel damage is extreme and the penetration deep for hard angled shots on big-bodied animals, even on heavy bone, while at the same time capable of full deployment on a broadside hit of a smaller animal at 1650 fps impact velocity.
